From April 22 to 28, 2025, a 15-member delegation of Chinese fluoroplastic processing enterprises, led by Wang Zhanjie, Chairman of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CPPIA), and Zhu Wulan, Secretary-General of the Fluoroplastic Processing Professional Committee, embarked on a research and exchange trip to Europe. During the trip, the delegation successively visited the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Plastic and Rubber Processing Machinery (AMAPLAST), Italian companies including ITAflon, FLUORSEALS, and GS4 PLASTIC, as well as Germany's GTS GmbH. They toured the factories of these enterprises and held in-depth discussions with local industry insiders. This series of activities has injected strong impetus into deepening international cooperation, advancing the innovation-driven upgrading and sustainable development of the fluoroplastic industry.
During the exchange with AMAPLAST, General Manager Mario Maggiani warmly received the delegation. Both parties conducted in-depth discussions on hot issues in the plastics industry, cooperation directions, and green and sustainable development. Chairman Wang Zhanjie stated that CPPIA has signed framework agreements and cooperation memorandums with nearly 20 international and foreign associations and institutions. He expressed the expectation that CPPIA will work with AMAPLAST in the future to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese and Italian plastic industry chains.
The Bergamo region in Italy is the largest production base for PTFE semi-finished and finished products in Europe, with a well-developed market for fluoroplastic blends. The delegation visited three representative enterprises here. ITAflon, which focuses on fluororesin composite modification and granulation, was received by its Chairman Mirko Zanga and his team. The company supplies over 300 types of PTFE composite modified materials, ranging from standard materials to customized solutions, to meet the diverse production needs of various industries. FLUORSEALS, an enterprise composed of multiple subsidiaries and Italy's largest PTFE product manufacturer, arranged for General Manager Fabio Saladini to accompany the delegation on a factory tour. Its products are widely used in chemical engineering, electronics, machinery and other fields, providing customers with high-standard fluoroplastic product solutions. At GS4 PLASTIC, Dr. Giovanni Sonzogni, the General Manager, introduced the company's achievements in the R&D and production of polymer modified materials driven by technological innovation, as well as its role in promoting the use of mechanically and chemically recycled polymers and advancing the development of the circular economy.
Germany's GTS GmbH also left a deep impression on the delegation. Mr. Patrick Häge, Sales Director, received the delegation. The company specializes in high-performance engineering plastic sealing solutions and precision PTFE component processing. It boasts digital production lines and a complete testing laboratory, with its products mainly used for sealing in chemical pumps and valves, aerospace actuators and other fields. Its PTFE spring-energized sealing products occupy a leading position in the German market.
Through this European trip, members of the delegation not only learned advanced technologies, management experience and innovative concepts in the European fluoroplastic processing field, but also showcased the development achievements of China's fluoroplastic processing industry to international counterparts. This has built an important bridge for deepening international cooperation, promoting technology sharing and achieving market win-win results. It plays a positive and far-reaching role in promoting the coordinated development of the global fluoroplastic processing industry, and is expected to help China's fluoroplastic industry reach new heights and achieve greater breakthroughs and development on the international stage.
