On March 6th, Alfa New Materials (Liaoning) Co., Ltd. (referred to as "ALFA") and The Chemours Company (U.S.), a global leader in semiconductor materials, formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Liaoning. The two parties will conduct in-depth cooperation focusing on the R&D, production and global market application of semiconductor-grade high-purity PFA pipelines. This cooperation is of great significance, marking that the two parties have entered a new stage of technological synergy and industrial chain complementarity in the field of high-precision semiconductor materials, and injecting strong impetus into the stability and innovation of the supply chain of China's semiconductor industry.
In the semiconductor manufacturing process, high-purity PFA pipelines, as key components for transporting ultra-pure chemicals, have extremely strict requirements on material purity, corrosion resistance and long-term stability. The cooperation between ALFA and The Chemours Company focuses on the dual-track strategy of "domestic substitution" and "joint technology research".
Relying on its internationally advanced automated PFA production lines and mature localized sales and service network, ALFA continues to deepen the optimization of production processes and cost control. By accurately controlling "purity", "precision" and "temperature", it is committed to opening up a new situation in the industry. The Chemours Company, on the other hand, relies on its patented technologies accumulated over years in the field of fluoropolymer materials to provide cutting-edge formula support and joint verification capabilities with global semiconductor customers, integrating its unified global high-quality standards into every inch of ALFA's high-purity PFA pipelines. At the Chaoyang factory, the two parties have deeply integrated Chemours' top-tier PFA raw materials with ALFA's independent clean extrusion technology, effectively shortening the cycle from R&D to mass production. They plan to jointly launch a new generation of "zero-defect" high-purity PFA pipelines in 2025, whose purity standard meets the highest level of the international SEMI F57, helping to improve the yield and efficiency of chips with advanced processes of 14nm and below.
The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement fully demonstrates the ecological power of symbiosis and win-win results in the industrial chain. Mr. Frenk Hulsebosch, Global Technology President of Chemours Performance Materials Division, stated at the signing ceremony: "The cooperation between Chemours and its predecessor DuPont and ALFA's investors has lasted for more than 30 years. ALFA stands out by developing products that other enterprises cannot manufacture, with unparalleled quality and unique product supply. Like Chemours, their firm dedication to the fluoropolymer industry is admirable."
Meng Fanxin, Chairman of ALFA, said at the signing ceremony: "Through in-depth cooperation with Chemours, a global leader in materials science, we have adopted Chemours' top-tier 951HP Plus PFA raw materials, which has brought about a revolutionary improvement in the performance of ALFA's high-purity PFA pipelines."
Chemours has designated ALFA as its highest-level strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region. This not only means technical authorization and supply chain support, but also the joint construction of a full-life-cycle value closed loop covering R&D, production and quality control. Just as Zhang Liren, Chemours Greater China Business Director, said: "Chemours entrusts its most cutting-edge PFA products to ALFA, which understands the Chinese market best."
This cooperation is expected to change the market pattern of semiconductor-grade high-purity PFA products, promote the supply chain of China's semiconductor industry to stride forward in the direction of independence, innovation and efficiency, and help China's semiconductor industry gain a more favorable position in global competition. The future results of the cooperation between the two parties are highly anticipated.
